Vivian's Blog

I will try to write as often as I can about different things happening at the Estate Sales or about antiques, antiquing, appraisals, and anything else that comes to mind.  There will also be tips and information about how to get the best bargains.

Requests for Pre-Sales

I thought I would include an interesting email that I received. Actually it is rather typical and it deserves publishing here. I do want everyone to know what our policy is about pre-sales. We do have it elsewhere on the web site and we mention it quite often at our sales. I just want to state it again.

I am a decorator/dealer. Do yall ever let us shop before you open to the public? Bonnie

Hi, Bonnie,

Thanks for the email.

Unlike most estate sale services we do not allow anyone to shop early. We have a mailing list of nearly 2,000 customers, many of whom are dealers. We have to be fair to everyone – which is a big reason that our sales are so popular. All of our customers know if an item was in the sale when we got the key to the estate, it will be there for sale when we open the door the day of the sale.

We do give out numbers one hour before the sale starts so it is a good idea to come early.

Have fun.

I go to every estate sale I can find every weekend and hardly ever miss one no matter who is having it. Yours are my favorites I know I can find things I can afford and unlike almost all of the others yours are fun. Everyone is laughing and talking. Your people are so nice and helpful. It is always fun. In line sometimes people tell about the other sales and where they are and whos they are. So many of them are just a waste of time no matter how their ads read like there is everything in the world there and there is nothing buy junk and it is too high. Sometimes they are so rude too like you are bothering them espeically if you try to ask for lower prices. I still go to all of them becuase you never know if you are going to find something but I always find good things at yours. Missy

Tommy, we rarely have anything of value left at the end of our sales.

The leftovers either go back to the family, if they requested them, or we donate them to Goodwill or other charity.
